Tonight I did a Google search on Florence Fabricant. The first link I clicked on brought up this quote, which is just too rich. Something worthy of the illustrious Lucy van Pelt in her role as a 5 cent psychiatrist. Can't you just see it tumbling out of her mouth in a big cartoon bubble?
"Peanut butter is the pate of childhood."
-Florence Fabricant
Florence, it's so true. So true.
Oh, and this is what I came up with when I did a Google image search for Lucy van Pelt. Huh?
I suppose that given the leading nature of my post title I should offer up a recipe for a drink. Alright then, in keeping with the spirit of this somewhat giddy post, I offer you a drink to make you giddy.
The Little Elevator
Make a kir royale with a splash of cassis and some chilled champagne but leave a half inch space at the top of the champagne flute. Top with citron vodka. Don't stir, just sip.

Naked men on platters? Just kidding. This is the perfect party cocktail. Whether it's a brunch or an evening cocktail party, I think something with smoked salmon in it would be a pretty swell accompaniment to The Little Elevator.
